First episode was a review - of ALL the past 5 seasons - basically they told the story again, through the perspective of all characters.
Second episode was just the start, nothing too exciting. Jacob was stabbed by benjamin linus, ben was intimidated to do so by John Locke (remember he died, john? He did, because the john we saw last few episodes was actually Jacob's friend, the guy in the body of lock, basically intimidated ben to kill jacob through some emo-sadness from the last years of his life and how he has never seen jacob etc). Most of the episode played up to this part, and nothing interesting happened. Just some flashbacks/forwards again as usual, where they show Jack's life, and they basically showed a lot of the re-crash again in the airplane where everyone was boarded again to crash again). Also, Juliet (Hot doctor, sawyer's girlfriend) fell into that pit in the end of S5, remember? she set off the bomb in the beginning of the first episode, and basically she survived it as the bomb set off another time-travel. Everyone dug for her after hte white-out, but she died in sawyer's arms. Bit of raging, blabla, bit of sadness. Then out of nowhere Jacob re-appears after he was stabbed (before the time-travel whiteout) and told Hirley (the fatass) they he needs to get Sayid (who is shot, and needs medical attention) to the Temple (the place where they went in s5 for the bomb, in the cave-tomb area). They went there, and were attacked by "people". Then these people took them to the actual Temple.
In the temple there are a few civillians, a leader(japanese guy) and a "translator".
The japanese leader of these people basically opened a wooden cross which Hirley had to take as he was told by Jacob (the one who told hirley to go there in the first place to "save" sayid), in which a few names were written. These names were all the people that crashed on the island again (jack, kate, hirley, sayid, benjamin, the asian dude and Jin (no sign of Sun yet, jin's wife)).
Anyway, Sayid was "drowned" in this magical water basin, and he came back from the dead roughly 20 minutes later
He was drowned by the japanese leader, the reason is still unclear, you saw in this episode that he has some kind of infection or something).
