The people who died that day are no more heroic than those who died in the tsunami back in 2004, or hurricane Katrina, etc. They all deserve remembrance, but to favor one event over others is ridiculous to me.

they are all disasters but this one is especially sad because someone did it, not nature. Its murder, thats why people are angry about it. Hurricanes and tornadoes, we can't do much about them.

Well it's not like the WTC attacks are the first instance where many people have died because of someone else.

Sorry but I'll take what happened that day to my own speculation, not the half assed story that was released.

i agree 100%, all this hyping up about 9/11 is shit if we arent going to make an effort to remember the rest. i know a few people born on that day, so no, i'm not going to be sad for those people, yes it is unfortunate, but i'm going to have a good day and have fun with my friends on their birthday.

have fun mourning while i'm out having a blast!

Goddamit, I hate you people so much, no it Farking didn't, the only people who care are the americans, everyone else is just nodding their heads along with them.

And to those of you saying "oh, might as well forget about the world wars", how the hell does this even stack up to world wars? It was like an hour of a day, and it's sad for the people who lost their family, but everyone else needs to shut the **** up, the fact people even refer to it as "9/11" is just retarded, I call it "The twin towers thing" (or the two towers thing, but then people think I'm talking about the lord of the rings".

You guys are calling him ignorant, but you're the ignorant ones. It sure is a day that can go down in history (but honestly, it's only really relevant because it has started the war in the middle east).

People still remember pearl harbor, and thats about 10 times the time span away as the WTC bombings ... and less people died there.

I'm not quite sure if i'm supposed to be happy or sad to have experienced it.

But i definitely think it should be remembered

9/11 did not change the world at all.

Maybe it gave the Americans a little taste of what's happening in other countries almost everyday, It probably didn't but those who think they're not safe because of 9/11 well maybe they should think about the little nerve-rattled Palestinian kid.

I'm not saying they deserved it, but I don't think anyone else deserves it for that matter and well we all know about the conflicts in the middle-east. So maybe if people would stop calling others ignorant and opened their minds a bit maybe they'd see the other side of it.

its because its recent and families have lost relatives on that day. Today, who really cares about pearl harbor (dec. 7), the only ones who actually care are the veterans who were there that day and get together in hawaii to honor the dead.

50 years from now, im pretty sure 9/11 won't create such drama and emotion as it does now. Be a little sympathetic, man. Its a whole other world when your uncle or brother is killed by a terrorist bomb

He knew that something was going to happen... He didn't know that the trade centers were going to be bombed and that it was going to happen on 9/11 or around in that month, but he did know about the pentagon and possibly the white house and he failed to act..

It's not just sad for those ppl, terrorists attacked our country and killed a lot of ppl, if think it should be forgotten or no big deal then, well iuno thats just you and maybe you don't care, but it definitely shouldn't >.>.

And it IS different from natural disasters like Jstar1 said.

Is the other things in history not taught and remembered? How does everyone even know about them if not? Ya think maybe that just a few years isn't much time compared to when the last world war or something like that was, just maybe?

Maybe you ppl should learn to have some respect, "the two towers thing" That is whats freakin retarded, if you don't like 9/11 maybe say what it actually is, world trade center? Anyway, i'm pretty sure no one wants to hear what someone doesn't like about something like that, or is sick of hearing about it, you can either just ignore it or go piss some ppl off.

Yes I know, But people should just forget about it. It happened they cant turn back time. And they should stop blaming the muslims for everything that happens. everyone thinks its their fault.

They should forget about 9/11 like they forgot about the Rugrats
~ Leave it alone america those who lost family too bad suck it up

( I'm cold hearted I know)

WoooooooooooooooW. That was not cold hearted that was just ignorance. So should we just forget the Holocaust too? Or what about the genocides in Darfur? Just forget those too because it happened in the past(well in the case of Darfur its probably still happening). I wish some people would just think before they speak.

The reason people said to forget things like WWII etc, was to prove how stupid the statement Squirt made was. Ask someone who lost someone there or anywhere. Ask them if they would want to forget about that person. Of course they wouldnt. Yes life goes on but you will always remeber somewhat. Obviously everyone is affected by it because like you said it started the "War on Terror", so it will be written down in the history books for kids to learn about in school.

If you're not American, don't farking complain about us Americans mourning for people we've lost.

No, he is farking ignorant and not respectful to those whose lost a lot that day. If you're American and you don't care about that day, you should take your carelessness and shove it up your ass. What if you've lost someone you knew to those pos terrorists? Wouldn't you be pissed if someone didn't care you lost someone? How would you feel?

Actually it did change the world. Stricter terrorism laws, more secruity .. all be it incompetant forces at airports. Hot lists of random arabs that have names that rhyme with Osama.

Al tho I do agree on the bit about why mourn this MORE than any other occasion ? Should we not have a thread about Columbine, V.Tech, previous WTC assaults, Hiroshima, whatever else ?
