Anyways, learning Dutch is a complete waste of time. If you're going to study in Delft your classes will be in English.
Delft, Leiden and Amsterdam all have internationally well known universities and foreigners are every day bussines.

My father is a professor for the university of Leiden and his students are for 90% foreigners. When he goes to get bread or something there's foreigners trying their best to pick up some Dutch and ask for "twe witte broden" and the people behind the counter immediately switch over to English asking "Oh, do you mean two white breads?".

I am positive most people will understand you better when speaking English than trying your best to speak Dutch.
Dutch is a dying language, there's already a lot of commercials in English, people using English words while talking and there's Dutch subtitles for almost every English program so even watching television won't require you to understand Dutch.


and @ ice: Using kanker is obviously very wrong.
Using Jesus as a swearword is much more appropriate!
