if anything its a clear demonstration of its huge success
What X-Lax is trying to point out is that majority of good animes keep it short. Those that even dare pass 50 tend to fail, though there are others that keep it strong such as FMA. It does sound like they're successful when they pass the 50 mark, or in this case, 100, but they just end up sucking everything out from the franchise as much as they can.
EDIT: When I say fail, I don't mean the anime gets discontinued. It gets really shitty.

Why would they fail if they go past 26? THat's harldly any to get a feel for em, just leaves you wanting more.
Not saying all, just saying most. What i really mean are the ones that don't have a set amount of episodes i.e. Naruto, Bleach and One Piece.
Shows that do have a set amount of episodes do tend to fail less.

Re: Naruto
The Following rant contains crude language and Spoilers. Though its naruto so its not like im spoiling anything important. Read at your own risk.
I used to like Akatsuki. Then they just kept killing all the cool ppl....Deidara, Sasori, Kisame, even Itachi....Hidan and Kazuku were lame and that was the most boring fight i've ever had to read. Then they came back with Pein and Konan and i was like, hey, this is what Akatsuki is about. Then they added Hawk to akatsuki and i just wanted to rip my eyes out. That is like a a whole team filled with ppl as useless as Aqua-man+Sasuke who is like a god because the Sharingan is like a 1hit kill move that controls the Kyubbi and does amazing genjutsu and teleports ppl to other dimensions and lets them see the future and blah blah blah. Im so sick of that damn over-powered eye i could beat my cat.
Also the art in that Manga is just shite, its like he doesn't know how to shade or draw Backgrounds which is a real shame because he loves to have entire 2 page spreads and panels filled with just...a tree...or a rock....then a frog...then a stream... -_-
I used to like naruto, i really did. I'd probably like it again if they renamed the manga Sasuke so at least i have this feeling of, Why did they make a supporting ally character so much more powerful than the main character. Naruto just reminds me of tidus, loud and useless. Sasuke WAS more like Auron....but then you know he started bursting into tears at the mention of his brother growing like the biggest hard-on about tracking him down and killing him. Then he finally does, AND HE LOSES AND THEN ITACHI JUST DIES! I just felt so unsatisfied, not to mention that fight was literally 3 chapters of them staring into each others eyes.
The art is bad, the story is bad and all over the place, the characters are bad, he lacks creativity and you can see every move coming like 8 chapters away, probably because you can read a whole chapter of naruto and not be further in the story/fight/plot than when when you started cause the mangaka spent all his time with poor dialoge and facial shoots. Its like how DBX had that bad habit of making character stand there looing at something with open mouth for like f min going "uh...ugh.....ugh....he's so powerful....ugh...uh"

Re: Naruto
What the hell is wrong with you? Dubbed...you should be stripped of your tv.
The only dubbed anime I watched that was decent was Ereka (or some other wierd way of spelling it) 7, One Piece seems like a good anime, I would start watching it and reading the manga, but I would be 30 years old when I catch up

I agree with your points of Kakuzu and Hidan being lame, the art lacking, and things being apparent chapters before they actually happen, but isn't Kisame still alive? o.o'
Adding Taka to Akatsuki...I kinda saw this coming once Madara took Sasuke ("you can see every move coming like 8 chapters away")...there goes that saying: Keep your friends close and your enemies closer.
As for Sasuke being more powerful....it's the concept of "Naruto" the character per se. His way is to keep to his word and never give up on accomplishing that, and Sasuke keeps raising the bar....so must Naruto.
I'm just blabbering on 'n on, like that one concept people tend to forget: "The structures of good and bad differ from one eye to another."
Back on topic: Skip watching the dubs and stick to subs

"To gain that which is worth having, it may be necessary to lose everything else."
Re: Naruto
Not only should he stick to subs, he should have stopped at episode 135 and jumped to Shippuuden right away. What a waste of time with 40+ fillers.

Re: Naruto
Despite some of its shortcomings, its quite entertaining.
Not really. The ones without a set number of episodes "fail" just as much as the ones without a set amount of episodes. I can probably say for sure that the ones with a set amount of episodes "fail" more often because a good majority of animes have a set number of episodes planned from the start.
Many of the most popular animes don't have a set amount of episodes. I don't think you can say an anime is "fail" if its managing to entertain its target audience.

I'm going to out on a limb here and say that whether or not there's a set number of episodes, anime fails.

I knew you would show up sooner or later.
BTW: Why do you hate anime?
