What i wouldn't do is announce to the world how bad torture is and then lie about doing it. I don't mind the torture im annoyed by the hypocrisy.

I suspect Bush doesn't give a shit about waterboarding, but he's veto'ing it so McCain has some examples he can use to draw himself away from Bush and show that if he is elected president it will be a McCain term, not a third Bush term.

I think it would be in Bush's best interest to help assure a republican win rather than secure his reputation in history.

I don't quite understand the reasoning, but my respect for McCain just went up from the first few minutes. Watching the rest right now.
Xemnas, I don't understand your reasoning at all. In fact, I believe this is probably the first time that this has happened. If I'm against using waterboarding on suspects, why would I vote Bush in for a 3rd term?
McCain, he (Barack Obama) said, will soon "be accusing me of being a secret communist because I shared my toys in kindergarten."

you missed my point. I think that the whole issue is being glossed over. Ben steins getting mad because were toe-stomp but the Iraqis are doing worse to us when in reality toe-stomp and waterboarding is probably the least of a prisoners worries. I didn't think it was smart of dom to use that for his argument because its just one obvious media bias vs another obvious media bias, both are ignoring the core details of the events they're calling into question and that makes them both equally stupid.

I don't value human lives, I value humanity thats just what i've been reduced to so in my book torturing PoWs is A-Ok, all part of the f*cked up game. What i don't like is that we're supposed to be a beacon against that type of "inhumane" action and we chastise others for not adhering to our righteous agenda when in reality we've been torturing ppl since at least the creation of the CIA. You can be for freedom and human rights and Torture ppl...thats an awfully mixed message and thats what i don't like about the situation.
