no the problem is for a long period of time the majority of americans did hold that view and to say they didn't is a boldface lie. We're just recently starting to lighten up on the issue but its infected every orifice of American media. Its on the news, its on Sitcoms, its in comedy shows, its on the internet, its on t-shirts for crying out loud. Any time the word Arab gets mentioned around a crowd of Americans you bet someone going to make a jib about terrorist, hell you can't talk about the Arab Race in SRO without someone bringing up suicide bombs.

That is the problem that ppl have with America. That narrow minded ultra conservative empirical attitude thats been sweeping across the world since we first landed here and all but wiped out an entire continents native people. So stop playing the innocent role of "we're not all like that" because the bottom line is this the Democratic symbol of the world and for the last 50 years we've been invading other countries committing acts of terrorism and are single handedly responsible for the rise of several of the major dictators of the 20th century all in the name of liberty, justice, and freedom.

We've made a mockery of these virtues and the world followed suit, those words are hollow and no longer have meaning, they've become a nothing more than tools that can be used to sell bumper stickers and recruit poor soldiers. And thats all i have to say about that im gone from this topic.

Yeah, we've been down this road too many times before, but I still stand by what I say.
I'm simply saying you aren't the world leaders, I get my ideas from the fact that Americans are always saying that America is. The world leader is the EU or England I'd say.
The point of saying I'm from Switzerland was to see if he had anything bad to say about it. That wasn't patriotic of me, because I didn't say "Switzerland is better than everything else" or something of the like.

In general, those "hating" on the US are too young and ignorant to take everything in account. Like racists they are zealous over things without an all encompassing understanding of the issues at hand - they hate blindly.

At the same time, i've never really seen educated and cultured Americans get hurt by this - they seem to realize that they people speaking harsh words are of no importance at all, and shouldn't be aggrevated by their words.

With that I leave with this note: if you're an American, be proud of your country and what it's done, don't fret over lowbrow words; if you're not an American, be proud of your country because national pride for one country is never worth more than another, it's not quantifiable.
