For some reason Kate had to take Claire's baby off the island with her (Aaron). We can only assume that something bad happened to Claire (what mother would leave her baby while she stayed on an island, ok, plenty in this messed up world, but Claire hasn't shown herself to be that type) and Jack either directly or indirectly had something to do with that event because he feels guilty about being around Aaron (it's a boy).

Wanna cool website to check out, this is a map of the Lost island made by some people that have watched all the episodes repeatedly and taken all the clues to construct an image of the island with the locations of the various Dharma compounds and other significant locations. Apparently these people aren't playing SRO enough to have time to do this.

The people from the helicopter, or to be precise, Miles (the asian one) used Kate to get to talk to Ben, he promised Kate to tell her what they know about her back in the real world (She was a fugitive remember?) So Kate used James to get Locke busy and so Kate took Miles to Ben and miles blackmailed Ben. He said he would tell his people that Ben was dead in trade for 3.2 Million Dollars. He gave ben a week of time and so as promised Miles told Kate that they knew everything about her and the crimes. Then they showed a 15 minute flashforward of Kate back in the real world where she was in court and Jack walked in as a witness and said kate was a hero and all that, so that the Judge would believe that Kate is a good person. Then in the end .. Jack didn't want to come with Kate because of Kate's Son, Aaron. (Aaron, just like Claire's kid). I don't know if its claire's kid but it looks like it...
Really strange i hope it gets a little more clear in the next episode.

I don't know that that is a safe assumption. I have some inside knowledge that claire does NOT die. So, perhaps she was FORCED to give aaron away? but that would still be "bad" I guess

My gf really hooked me into this show, was reading the thread and you guys seemed to have left an important detail out. When Jack was on the stand he said there was only 8 people who survived the plane crash.. I wonder what there trying to hide?

I was thinking the same thing. It answered a lot of questions about the island, why everything is so strange, and it was cool that there was no flashback this time, the flashbacks were actually part of the present time storyline.
