Web cam -.-, few boxes of candy, personal hygiene products and some money. Nothing special. Just it was quite fun actually we celebrated with loads of people. (family and friends)

I got nothing. But in Holland we don't rlly celebrate christmas with presents. we have Sinterklaas on the 5th of december and he gave me a new cell phone (sony ericsson s500i

I'm Dutch too and we do it the other way around. It's just bout what ppl you have. We like to celebrate xmas rather then sinterklaas...

Some people don't celebrate Christmas for the "true meaning". I'm not Christian, my family celebrates X-mas for gifts. Not to be rude or offensive, but we don't really care when Jesus was born.

Anyways, I got Call of Duty 4 and $210 USD.

just because some families have money and buy their kids nice presents doesnt mean thats is spoiled, its the culture that they grow up in, from country to country there is a vast difference in salaries and for some people that make $100,000+ a year spending $600-700 on presents once a year isnt much. I personally didnt get much but thats since I am older with my own kids and I dont want expensive items at Christmas since I buy myself enough through out the year, but I bought my 7 year old son a 110cc 4 wheeler, guitar hero 3 for ps3, and a ripstick (skate board) along with a couple of small items.

I agree, us americans are spoiled. many are materialistic and not concerned with what we probably should be. I try to consider myself somewhat different. I feel I am progressively-minded and educated and try to shy away from material things if I can. But, everyone's a hypocrite to some degree, and man, I still love my music to sound good, my movies to look good and my video games to be fun!

I agree, us americans are spoiled. many are materialistic and not concerned with what we probably should be. I try to consider myself somewhat different. I feel I am progressively-minded and educated and try to shy away from material things if I can. But, everyone's a hypocrite to some degree, and man, I still love my music to sound good, my movies to look good and my video games to be fun!

maybe for some yes, and some no really depends on what your families situation is, nowadays if you want to buy your child any gaming items what do you have a choice of, PS3, XBOX 360, and WII, all $300+, how does a younger kid get those items or get to play video games if thier parents dont buy them and saving is not an option for many since I would rather buy him items every so often then give him cash to blow on something.

and those sweet 16 shows are a joke, thats for multi millionaires that really do spoil their kids and have no problem dropping 100k on a party, we are talking about the average people, and lol so why are most americans dumb, enlighten me on your stereotypical wisdom

Yes, we are a wealthy society that probably has become too materialistic. But that's the society on a whole. The entire economic structure lends itself to that. But, to say that a type of people is "dumb" is not only ignorant, it probably indicates that you hold other ignorant opinions about things. :roll:
