well this is a nice discussion. I guess i'd be a bit grossed out to but after actually seeing someone give birth i think nothing can freak me out. Anywho whether or not this article is fake or real i think it is interesting to see ppls reaction to it. And with science you can never rule out the possibility of such things. Another thing i thought weird was how ppl were saying its against religion and god doesn't like that kind of stuff when that is nowhere in the bible. I don't think there is a line of text that reads "and man shall not have babies" to paraphrase it. And what would they do with a pregnant man anyway. If they kill the man it would be abortion which they are also supposed to be against.
I actually think it would devalue the role of women in society. Woman have always been seen as nurturing and males couldn't exist without them. But if men were able to reproduce and nurture children then the vagina become solely a pleasure place imo. If worse comes to worse and this was possible man could easily live without woman and i think that knowledge will take a subconscious role in society and ppl would reflect it by showing less respect t woman. Theres hardly a job that exist that doesn't lead with males first even things like cooking and cleaning are primarily male dominated industries.

If it's true, why? What could science possibly gain from this? I'm no religious nut but this is just insane and ridiculous. Good luck explaining to your kid why he has no mother like the rest of humanity. Assuming a healthy child is "born" in the first place that is.

and if the baby is born then WHAT will the baby be like? Will the baby be deformed or what? And what will happen to that man? Will he die in the process or will his reproduction organs be greatly damaged?

anatomy is subjective to the will of science. There are several things that science has overcome at this point the question shouldn't be HOW it should be WHEN for it is only a matter of time
as for explaining to the child it was born from a man i don't think that would have an impact on it. A child can't miss what its never known. If your worried about the child facing ridicule and embarrassment then you should look no further than yourselves because mankind has shown again and again how they deal with things they believe to be "abnormal"
As for the possibilities aside from making a couple ppls dreams come true i don't see it helping anyone as of now. But then again landing on the moon hasn't really helped us out here on earth at all....

The article has nothing to do with a man being pregnate. It's simply about sea horses, although the pregnateman site shows it as an article talking about Lee.

But if this were real and not a Hoax i would hope that child dies in the process, and i dont see what Science would gain from this... now if this was somthing that the human body did by itself then yes science could gain somthing but if it has to be done with outside help... weird wrong gross

seeing my wife pregnant would make me so happy and id think she was adorable, now imagine me being pregnant or seeing other men pregnant -thats just fuckin sick.
There is no gene for homo sexuality. They have documented cases of twins, ppl with identical genetic structure raised in the same environment and still one starts showing signs of homo sexuality at an early age while the other remains "normal"......to me this means it isn't a matter of genetics or nurture.
But im getting off topic in my own topic =/ but relies this isn't a topic about gays. While im sure some would be happy with this news other would probably react the same way you are. This discussion is supposed to be about the benefits or lack thereof of this breakthrough if it isn't a hoax.
Still i'd take these opinions a bit more seriously if they didn't basically put "thats icky" am i expecting to much? In alot of animal species the males plays a much more active role in childbirth be it carrying the eggs inside of him for a bit or allowing the eggs to be fertilized inside his body. having both sexes with mating capabilities when necessary has its advantages in certain instances. And again i stress the point that not every development or leap forward in science has affected us as soon as it was discovered. It was hundreds of years after Galileo rediscovered that the earth went around the sun that it began to have practical implications.
