Were we watching the same thing? It's called art deco and not supposed to be totally realistic looking. At least they didn't go cartoony for a game where you can shoot electricity out of your hands. May just be a personal preference thing.

Want to play it on hard, huh? Go into your gamer profile, select game defaults, game difficulty, then change it to hard. Load up the demo and at the diff selection screen hard will be highlighted. Press A to play on hard.

Played it, and it kicked ass. It ran smoothly for me on max, 1024x768 res. At least 60+ fps. The game is a lot like System Shock if you've ever played it. You get weapons and psi powers to do random things to your enemies, you can hack the security bots to help you fight, and probably a ton of other stuff in the full game. Definitely worth buying if you ask me.

Runs perfectly for me too. Haven't hit below 45 fps, highest options, w/8800GTS 320MB, x2 3800 @ 2.5 and 2GB ram.
Maybe it's me playing the demo like 10x but so far nothing has wowd me. Def fun though.

If you're going to playing this just an fyi, it eats up your cpu. I'm @ a constant 76%+ even w/the game minimized.

In 2nd level. Big daddies are tough, especially when you have other shit pissing you off like turrets and splicers. They aren't so tough against a grenade launcher though

. Playing w/the plasimids is win and so far I've found all the direct effect ones are the same but w/a minor diff. Electobolt, Incinerate, and Winter Blast all have the same effect of making an enemy offense-less for a certain time. Diff being in water EB kills, in oil In kills, and w/WB people are easier to kill b/c they'll shatter and subsequently you can't loot ice shards.
Only thing I'm not liking is the story hasn't picked up yet.
Playing on normal btw.

downloaded the game in 20 minutes
the load screens take me 5 minutes each, and I crash after the elevator cut scene finishes on the second screen

Interesting, cuz they aren't for me. R6 takes about 6 sec and this is about 12-18. My fps went down to 35 minutes ago. Broken cables spewing sparks + 3 splicers + shocked in water + bigD + grenades blowing in my face = smooth sailing.^^
Still liking the game.

Sure is, esp w/those instant flashes you get of your past.
I'm in arcadia now, garden/forest level, and it's by far the most beautiful thing I've seen in game. 2nd boss is fun and not generic like the 1st was. I'm harvesting the sisters and it's limiting to upgrade, can't imagine saving them. So far still good.

i played the demo for the 360 and i loved it. The graphics/lighting were amazing in some places but looked bad in others, hopefully they'll fix it. I dig the art style of the game...to real and it would've been RE4 to cartoony and it would've been PD(n64 version).....I like the plasmid idea and the only real problem i had with it was aiming in the dark. Its hard to aim act something thats moving quickly out of the light....maybe it was just me...also im a sucker for a good story and from what i hear this game is really plot driven....

EGM/1up gave it a 10/10 and thats enough to make me consider buying it
