What was it like getting your wisdom teeth pulled out?

you will eventually have to have them pulled when you get older. You will start to get tooth aches or they will get bad. Hurt your gums and stuff.

You are not need to pull off at all if they dont hurt you or anoying you..
and is not So painfull to pull of them.Some hour can you have pain after but not so that you faint...

I didn't want to be put to sleep so I was there every second of it. And it wasn't bad. Granted, I was a chicken shit because I just have 1 yanked out at a time (the other 3 grow kinda ok).

The pain when he pulled out wasn't much because I was numb. I feel a lot pressure. It's like they make a mall hole on the side of the teeth then pry it out with their pliers. Hours after you don't feel much pain. They prescribed 3 types of medicines: antibiotic, 1 for for swollen and a pain killer. However, during the next 2 weeks, I felt like I had a toothache. I think it's because the root of the nearby tooth was exposed to cold air.

The thing that I hate the most was not able to eat for the first 2 days. So follow hellsharp's advice and get some milkshake. Straw = win!

Mine was on the the lower jaw so food can easily get in. It's a bitch. The dentist sew what he cut (it's a surgery, see) but not the gap, which is kinda big and so deep. Everything I ate later gets in and I CAN'T get it out myself. I had to visit them every week to have it checked up and get them to fish the food bit out.

Are they impacted?

When teeth are impacted, I will tell you what they typically do.

First, they put you under. Which isnt so bad.

Then, they slit your gums horizontally with a scalpel knife. Sometimes the cut rides up the cheek a little bit.

Then, they crack or drill the tooth into several pieces, so they can pull the roots out individually. Sometimes roots break half way or are not exposed, so they have to dig and cut a little deeper.

Now, one side of my face was okay, just black and blue, with a tint of yellow.

The other side was swolen the size of a mini nerf football. Like a deformed ogre. Seriously, you would never think your face can swell that big.

Then you get stitches that will dissolve over time.

For the first few days you won't be able to open your mouth, but you get lots of vicodin. Makes you really high and sleepy. But who cares if you sleep. You'll love it.

I recommend sleeping sideways with a washcloth / towel under your face, as you bleed through the night.

Eventually, you'll be on solid food again. But for now, soup n mash potatoes for you!!!!!

i got mine out two weeks ago on wednesday.

it overall wasn't too bad. i got knocked out and don't remember anything really from when i fell asleep till about 4 hours later. the worst part for me, aside from the pain in the morning from the vicodin wearing off, was when the anti-biotic made me sick. throwing up with open wounds in your mouth is not exactly fun.

just take your meds and you should do alright.

wow put to sleep . I never sleep when they take some off my wisdom teeth and all was real impacted..And meds for it to ...Oh well

All I remember was teh blood.....and more blood...and more, and more....

Oh yea, and the pain and cotton swabs they put in your mouth which have to be replaced like every 2 hours. I was drivin to Vegas, so it really sucked. Especially with all 4 pulled.

Well, at least I don't have anymore wisdom teeth. Did I get dumber....

Well, seriously it wasn't that painfull as I expected (dentiste removed 4) the only annoying thing was that it was bleeding quite a lot...

Just don't smoke the next 48h, don't eat rice until it's healed and sleep a lot :]

i had both sides done, they slit both sides of my gum open while i was asleep. after it didnt hurt that much,since i was still drugged up, had to eat soup stuff all the time, but i was mostly asleep, since the painkillers they give you basically knock you out, so id suggest jst going to sleep to ease the pain abit too.

I had mine taken out about a year ago.

Freaking nightmare for a week. Eating non-solid foods, even sneezing hurt.

But after that week, life is heaven. It is not too bad. Don't let it worry you.

It's all over in a week or so.

geting those teeth out is way better than having them ache around on your jaw
