Imo i find it sucks that a lot of people ruin their financial situations to then get a half ass paying job. It must royally suck. And it goes for the people that have to be in school for 5-6-7-8-9-10 years! I mean HOLY SHIET. I just compare it to my girlfriend that is switching university programs next year, going into ergotherapy, and then she still has to do 5 years because she wouldnt be able to practice her passion without a masters degree!
I find myself in an extremely lucky situation that i only have to soend 9 months in school then im out in the working world earning probably as much as my girlfriend will earn after 5 years of university. Of course she will eventually earn more than me once she gets a good name for herself in the medical sector, but we all know that could take a while. Ill be extremely happy when i reach (if i reach) the 80-90k$ per year salary, which is already almost triple what the average Quebecois earns and double the average Canadian.
Im glad my field of passion is one that doesn't require a long university degree.

In 5 years...
Hopefully with a good job that will allow me to be able to support a family
I'll be 26 in 5 years; so maybe I'll nut up and prepare to put a ring on it

wait as long as you can IMO, even at the youthful age of 26 life is highly unpredictable

A lot of people who major in philosophy have better critical thinking skills in comparison with most people. They know how to gather data and analyze it rather than memorization and regurgitation of information (AKA "brain dumping/vomit"). I went to a few philosophy club discussions (whenever the photo club is not in session) and I found them to be very mentally-stimulating.
It's not as "useless" as most people think it is. One of my most intelligent friends is a bachelor of philosophy; one of the few people I actually enjoy having a conversation with. The guy also has a degree in nursing, a lab tech license, and current taking the PA program..but he still plans to become a physician after his tour with the military (he recently joined). So no, I wouldn't call it useless.

Those are two subjects I would love to take in college (esp. Ancient and the Middle Ages in Asia), much more so than Engineering or Computer Science that I will probably have to take. Cant take risks though...
