I wouldn't download a car, or a house, or a movie, or music or anything really. Unless I have the permission from the creator/publisher/intellectual creator etc to download said media than I won't do it. I don't really see why we need to download anything. Movies are incredibly cheap, as are CD's, games and basically anything else that is made downloadable. A lot mof programs are expensive, sure, but most of the time we don't really need them to begin with and if you plan to use it commercially you wouldn't download it anyway (not to mention it's more of an investment than an expense so the price is justified).

The 'download a car' argument is flawed in my eyes. If a large majority of people started to do it, profit levels for car companies would drop. This means less potential investment from shareholders, cost-cutting measures have to be put in place, cars of lessor quality will be made available as a way of remaining competitive and it hurts the industry as a whole. Not to mention that if every single person just started to download cars, than no profits would be made at all and the production of cars would stop completely, making download a 'new car' impossible. All hypothetical of course, though.

tl;dr No.

$8~ for a movie or so.
$11~ for an album - more for vinyl.
pretty cheap.

Collection of hundreds of both items (Lets say 500.)
4K for the movies
5.5K for music.
Pay? No thanks. (I'd buy some of it, definitely not all.)
