What you need to do is learn to love yourself. Not physically, although that never hurts either. Learn to be comfortable with who you are, learn to enjoy your own company or the company of friends without that extra bond being in place. Develop hobbies, create some morals to live by and concentrate on being yourself. If you meet someone who you are intrigued by, don't "fall in love" with them. Get to know them, spend a lot of time learning who they are, what they like, connect with their soul. In time if the bonds feel right than embrace it. The more you fall for people after a short period of time the more you will be embracing lust. Lust always ends in heart break, I know this first hand.
