Basketball isn't a one man sport. It's a whole team. Sure, having the best, or nearly the best player in the world helps a lot, but if everyone else is trash it wont win everything. Cavs did make it to finals with James, so that's gotta count for something.

Re: Lebron James to Miami?!?
Anyone here ever switched guilds to try and win a fortress war? If you have, I hope you aren't the ones bashing LeBron ;]
In my opinion, Cleveland has actually turned their back on LeBron. The man gave 7 years to the Cavaliers, a team that without the addition of LeBron is just another [below?] average team. Never was he a self-proclaimed "king", never did he do anything to taint Cleveland in any way, and never did he complain about his situation. All he did was dream. For 7 years he worked hard for Cleveland and did his share in building the team, but his efforts were not met by the rest of the players or coaching/managerial staff members. Now he is given a rare opportunity where he is allowed to go to any team at the peak of his career, and instead of being proud of the player that they raised, all Cleveland can do is curse and scream his name as if he were Satan on earth. Where's the thanks? Where's the farewell and good luck wishes? This whole fiasco just fuels the case that Cleveland is full of a bunch of losers. Maybe this is why the city has no winning sports teams, trust and kindness in Cleveland is all fake. Cry babies, cry. LeBron is going to have the season of his life, and I will pleasure watching Cleveland crash and burn like all the other sports teams that come from that shit hole... !

The Heat are actually getting some good role players, considering the salary cap they have. But anyway, KNICKS FTW!

Re: Lebron James to Miami?!?
How does this salary cap work? It's just the amount of money they have available for players? Or does NBA determine this or what?
I've never heard about a salary cap in football or something. Are the teams not allowed to get in debt?

Lebron will never match 23. Period. End of discussion.

I am pretty sure that however much they can put in is their salary cap. The Dallas Mavericks is the richest team. But considering they have Dwayne and Lebron atm they are probably going to have money issues next year. Lebron will probably stay this year to hopefully win the championship and then move on to a better paying team. Just my guess.

Salary cap is a limit set by the league so that cities with a bigger fan base don't overpower the smaller cities with a smaller fan base. It's basically like preventing a team from buying up all the best players.

Re: Lebron James to Miami?!?
He said he came for one, two, three, four, five, six, seven championships, so he's not here for 1 year.
Besides, for most of the players the salary isn't even the main source of income. Sponsorship deals get them even more money. LeBron is gonna get even more and better offers if he really comes through on his championship promises. I don't think he's worried about money.
edit:
Wow, really? What an 'un-American' idea. It's so... social.

no matter how many championships he wins with the heat, his legacy will be taking a hit for it.
let the "oh he couldn't win one on his own.." begin.

Nobody wins on their own. Kobe had Shaq and then had Gasol. Jordan had Pippen. Wade had Shaq.

Re: Lebron James to Miami?!?
he was only what? years and years past his prime? he was a role player then unlike when he was with kobe.
edit: and it was under entirely different circumstances. wade didn't leave the heat to go join up with shaq and then win his first. it was wade's team then, it will be wades team now and probably for a long time to come.

Re: Lebron James to Miami?!?
I really just think the big deal about them 3 being in Miami together... (Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, Lebron James) is that they were all in the same draft class of 2003...and now they are all together on the same team..which by the way im pretty sure has been planned on for a while now...You can tell Lebron, Dwayne , and Chris all knew that he was going to the Heat for a while..
