goku and krillin are the only main characters that I can think of with annoying voices in japanese audio. Other then that, I think its better than flat, american, boring voices. Seriously, it sounds like they are just doing it for the paycheck, and when there is some kind of artsy thing going on, it just comes out corny as hell. Japanese voice actors actually put some heart into everything they say.

Jstar, Freeza's voice in the japanese audio was pretty boring and run of the mill. Making him sound like an demented, condescending, old lady in the English audio adds a lot to his cool points. BTW Vegeta sounded awesome in English audio. He and Piccolo had the most badass voices.

the english gokus voice was a semi-deep voice, giving modest BUT still somewhat his size voice
