Thanks guys

I got confirmation today that all my parts are ready for shipping. Should have them by wednesday, tuesday is more likely.

Nope. In most cases, it is one fan and one fan only that's noisy, the CPU fan. Usually the CPU fan that comes with the CPU purchase is really bad and thus needs to speed up tons and these are usually extremely loud

All my other fans in the case don't go over 25dB. Which is just a tiny bit noisy I guess, but far from serious.

very similar build in the not so far future. only thing i would change is gpu, with current pricing i would prob select a gtx 275 over those 4890s oc edition ( specially oc edition ).
on another note that is my fav case bar none, pics of the inside wouldnt hurt

. btw 4.0 Ghz is overkill lol, no need to punish your cpu that way. tone it down to 3.2-3.6 and you will still have monster performance, just that you'll get better temps and use less energy doing it.
The choice between todays high end video cards (Nvidia and ATI) is something I actually put least amount of time in. My friend has two ATI Radeon HD 4870's (Just a bit older than mine).
And he runs everything amazingly well.
I've personally actually used Nvidia for years and years, and different reviews say that ATI is currently simply ahead of Nvidia

(DDR5).
And well I am getting the parts on tuesday/wednesday max. (I plucked these off google).
I will be posting multiple pics of the building process etc

also i hear arctic cooler 7 on newegg.com is really good for a heatsink
The i7 is really well OCable. There shouldn't be any problems

And yea that cooler is quite good btw, but mine cools just as well, maybe even a little bit better. And most importantly it's quiet (although I've ordered a different fan with it for LED).
cpinney wrote:very nice, something similar to what i would get if i were to get a new one

odd, i just noticed when i bought my pc new 2 years ago it cost 2100 as well.
I don't think prices go UP over the years. They just stay the same, new hardware costs the same as other hardware that was new 2 years ago

EvGa wrote:Very nice setup. With that GPU setup what games will you be playing? (It will play any game out there, just wondering which ones you fancy)
Watercool it NAO!! With some UV dye in the tubes it would look bangin. You've already spent $2100, go all out.
Got my c2d running 4ghz, but on water.
Well, next month (new paycheck

) I will be ordering up some final things.
Fan controller with a nice little display, 1 more case fan, and some other minor things.
And most importantly, some insanely epic monitor

Don't know which one yet.
I'm thinking of a full HD Samsung Syncmaster (27").
BaronSengir wrote:what are you temps like?
The temps will be extremely low. The airflow in this case is simply amazing.
See a few posts below for that.
Sharp324 wrote:Good job. Nothing better than building your first and watching it run. Hopefully you stick with it, is definitely fun. Personally been building for 6 years...it relaxes me.
Have to agree with you. I'm not even building yet and this stuff - the research, reading forums etc - is really nice. Never would have thought it's so much fun and especially interesting.
Not to mention I followed IT for a year, which was 2.5 years ago. From then until now I haven't really done much with hardware. It's nice to get all this stuff researched etc.
Can't wait to build it

Wu wrote:Very nice, though you will have monsterly electrical bills if you use it alot. 750 watts.
Meh, not me paying them

[SD]Master_Wong wrote:nice case but one problem your gona have unless already addressed is dust with so much ventalation on that, should by some anti-dust mesh to put inside imo
See bottom of post.

BrowNTyGeR wrote:sik pc...but mad overpriced, too much for my taste, i usually go for ~1000 when getting a new pc. But hey..if i had mad money, then i would get a system like that. What speed was the processor at prior to oc?
2.66 GHz.
The antec nine hundred So, fan #1 and 2 are Intake fans. They are attached to the bottom 2 HDD cages.
They blow the air through the HDD's into the bottom and the top of the case.
At the bottom, my PSU will suck it in and blow it out the back, also slightly cooling the Graphics cards in the middle of the case.
At the top, my CPU cooler (pointed to blow towards the rear (#4), will blow into #4 & #5.
To answer MasterWong, see white stripes on the HDD cages on the right side.
They have dustfilters between the case and the fans. The HDD cages can move out the front so it's a really cool system, and easy to remove the filters. (They are just 2 fishnet kind of racks that slide in. Meaning the only 2 intake fans, thus the only ones that will suck in dust, won't

@ Nayu, don't be silly

Overclock the I7
