You should make her a card.
Hand written, with something cute on it.

And presents aren't a way to a 16 year old girls heart!
Other things are....

It depends. Is it one of those rich stuck-up girls that want a huge expensive party?

Or the average everyday girl?

I always say I left the present with the other presents and go straight for the food and booze.
God, I'm so cheap.

I doubt it.

Her family is "well off" but not crazy rich, shes a christian so no dickinabox presents *-_-*. Oh and she takes ballet/dance, enjoys singing and playing soccer.

Jstar1 wrote:what is with the necklaces and earrings?? way too expensive and materialistic and generic

None of us are talking about crazy expensive earrings. Probably under $50 defiantly. And the ladies like a man who is capable of buying nice jewelry, purses or w/e for them.

Just get her gift vouchers, you can't go wrong. A necklace or bracelet might seem cheap if you can't spend to much and she'll probably wouldn't wear it.

Maybe ask her friends, what she likes, music, films, books (if she likes to read)

try to stay away from things that has a size associated with it (Shirts, clothes and shoes), why you ask? because it implies that you're making a comment on her body.

Stay away from food or wacky gifts, as foods are consumable and she won't remember you, wacky gifts are fun, but it all depends on the person, on how they take it as.

necklace and earrings or in general, jewelleries represents "foreverness" or "eternity" so if you're not really serious about her, don't do those.

otherwise, anything cute and cuddly would work.

edit: and don't give her gift cards or cash either, its not sensitive as a guy and it shows that you don't really want to waste your time picking a gift for her.

Worst come to worst, make something yourself for her, maybe a scarf? or even draw a card, thouse are the things someone will remember about you.

Well then im sure you probably have some sort of photo with just you and her, you could always get one of those 2 picture frame booklet-ish things and put the picture with you and her, and for the other frame you could write something sentimental lol

Like this, but not digital lol:

+1. that is a nice and sweet detail. girls love it!
get a nice pic of just you and her, if it's a funny pic of you 2 posing that would be great!
you don't really need a fancy frame for it, just use some markers and stuff, make it look really nice and show her you put time and effort doing it.
last time i gave a girl a framed picture she became my girlfriend, and she still is.
:P

You mentioned you're not interested in her romance-wise. That makes choosing a present a lot easier - dont kill yourself over it. Get her a gift card. You're not trying to make an impression on her, right? You're safe with a gift card.

some of you may think a single bday present shouldn't be that much of a deal. but it really is. if you put effort on a really nice present, especially one that YOU made, it will definitely make her feel special.
you may not be interested in her 'romance-wise' like said before, but you are interested in her friend-wise.

a gift card is something i would give to a person i barely knew and showed signs of friendship. but it is definitely not a choice if you already know her for 2 years! you want to be good friends, so show her that you care about her and give her a goddam framed photo! .. or something along those lines.

don't be a lazy ass, don't take the easy way out, make an impression! an impression as a friend!
a little talk while giving her the present would be sweet too. like saying how cool she has been for the past 2 years, and how you consider her one of your best friends and blabla. doesn't hurt to show a little affection! :P

she will hug you, and most likely keep that picture in her room! think about that :P
if she ignores you or anything like that then she isn't really worth having as a friend.

omg

edit: 200th post woot! 3+ years and ive gone this far! :P

Rate her on a scale of 1 to 10 on how much you want to go out with her.

7 or higher = necklace
4 or higher = pillow
1 or higher = money
0 = condom

lol, but seriously
