Same here bit of drool, but I have tested myself and found out. When you are tired and go to bed late, or you had a real crazy day. More often, well like 90% of the time you will drool. If you go to bed late you will drool. If you sleep at the right time everyday wake up at the right time (don't over sleep) it will stop. Try it if you don't believe me, sleep at around 10pm and wake up same time every morning, your drooling day is over.

On topic: I only seem to drool when I nap. Also, I think everyone opens their mouth once they fall into deep sleep, your body does it automatically.. Could be wrong, thought I read or heard that somewhere.

Your mouth is supposed to only go open while sleeping if the oxygen supply through your nose is not sufficient.

In the summer there are a lot of plants and stuff blooming, a lot of people get all kind of stuff from that, I wouldn't be surprised if this also clogs up your nose a bit, causing you to breathe through your mouth, causing you to drool.

I think you should both try to wear those snore strips. They open up your nose and that is supposed to prevent the opening of the mouth which will prevent your drooling.

This is just a hypothesy, I have no idea if this medically accurate, but worth a shot I reckon.

i sleep with my mouth open and my nose is normally clear...i think keeping your mouth shut takes more energy then just letting it pop open a bit on its own...

Like HejsaN said, the only time I ever drooled was when I was asleep in class. Even then, it was a very small amount on my backpack or my arm or my book, whichever I decided to use as a pillow.

I get it the worst in the winter because of the dry air. My nose gets all stuffed up so that's prolly why. Every morning when I wake up I can churn out like a bucket full of snot, it's actually kinda awesome.

I just sleep weird in general.

I'll start off right smack in the middle of the bed taking up all the space but by the time I wake up one of my pillows is across the room infront of the bathroom door the other two are on the ground. My blanket has fallen behind the head board while I'm curled up in the corner pressed against the wall clinging to my last pillow....this was also accompanied with a puddle of drool but that has stopped. I have no explanation as to why, it just did.

P.S. I sometimes, though seldom drool, it's only if it takes a while to fall into a deep sleep, sometimes alittle saliva will fall down, but I never wake up in a puddle of drool, I only notice it when I fall asleep for a short period of time, and am woken up abruptly, then I'll have some saliva on my face.

Or maybe I'm just getting raped too, and that's actually not saliva but... Well, yeah.
