Why stick to one if you can develop all of them in order to provide options depending on the geography? The US alone is a large country, obviously. The terrain and climate varies from east to west, north to south. Take tidal if you're close to the sea. Wind if you're in high elevations. Solar when you're close to the equator.

Even in one state, you can find ideal locations for these sources. Take California for an example. Tidal power can be used since it's right beside the Pacific Ocean. Wind power can be implemented, as is, in the Valley. Solar power can be used down south around San Diego.
