At least Evga's trying to find out the truth. He may be defending Atheism now, but to me it looks like where he's going, he will find what he is looking for.

Hehe, thanks.

Second part, I was a Christian before I gave up believing in god. I'm not really seeking anything now except more knowledge. I'm 100% content with my 'beliefs' that all things are physical, there is no afterlife, this is it - make the most of it. I'm fine with that and the moment I came to this conclusion I actually felt "enlightened" as many like to say.

I accept determinism, this picture fits my beliefs. :P This is another reason i like religion/science threads. Lots of interesting topics are brought up. Even if we are jumping all over the place, it's interesting.

Yeah, you are wrong. lol. I came to the conclusion that there most likely is no god, no supernatural realm, nothing of the sort. There is no reason to seek out a religion if I don't believe in any of the things religion teaches. Specifically, I don't believe in god, I don't need a religion, that's kind of a prerequisite to most of them. No afterlife, yada yada. I didn't give up believing in god solely because of the contradictions in the bible, actually, that didn't play much of a role. It was mainly because of a lack of evidence that shows that there is a god of any sort, an after life, miracles, a super natural realm, etc. Some people say, 'well, all that is outside the scope of science, it tests physical things'. Ok? So we will never be able to test or verify it exists. I'm not going to believe in something that can't be verified. If I did, I would be open to believing anything, any ridiculous thing man could come up with.

there was your mistake imo.

You left Christianity and suddenly went to no religion. I too agree with you. There are contridictions in Christianity . For example; the existence of different versions of the Bible. If I were born a Christian, I would ask: "Why is there more then 1 Bible if only 1 Bible was sent to Jesus?" (is probably gonna get answered by someone) "Why is there 3 Gods?" "How can God be tortured by the ones he created?"

Then, after leaving Christianity , I feel like you became prejudice to other Religions which caused you to not follow any of them.

Just my opinion though. I may be wrong.

how is someone born a religion? it isnt a skin color or genetic condition.

i dont see more than one bible anywhere i simply see alot of people taking the bible and interpreting it as it fits their religion. im pretty sure that the same happens with the quran, hence the multiple factions of muslims.

what three gods are you refering to?

also, be wise with which manner you bash chistianity, im pretty sure that if you looked hard enough, youd find some unpleasant relationships to moon worship in the roots of islam.

no ofy, you were born a human being to muslim parents. they raised you as a muslim, and trained you in those ways. if you were born by the same people, then placed in the care of a hindu couple, do you genuinely believe you would still view things the way you do?

Same goes for you, would you still be a Christian? (I assume you are, judging from previous threads, I could be wrong.)

How is this not a huge problem for people who take even a second to analyze religion?

Instead of worrying about an afterlife or religion's laws or beliefs its best to just enjoy your life the way you see fit. Because none of us knows what happens after life or where we were before it. Live in the now
