Honestly, I think everyone is overreacting. Level 5 threat? Seriously?
It's just a new virus just like every other virus was when they first appeared, they thought witches cursed people with it...

They're making vaccines now and we should build a better immune system towards it.

Also, I heard that it only lasts 2-4 days. We shouldn't be alarmed, us being older than a 20 something month old we have a better defense towards these things.

There are major places in Mexico that are in poverty or close to it. They don't have the resources to protect themselves. So, they wouldn't be able to fight it off.

So the numbers grow and the regular pesticides have no effect, which forces them to use something else. Rinse and repeat, until you have super-bugs eating all your crops.
Same thing applies to viruses such as this. (Sub pesticides with antibiotics ofcourse.)
