Fill the 3 Litre Bottle 5 litre Bottle
then put the Water in 5 litre Bottle = 3 Litres
and Water in 3 litre Bottle = 0 Litre

Then 3 Litre Bottle and put the water 5 litre bottle until it fills up
fter that put all the Water in 5 litre Bottle = 5 Litres
Put the other Water in 3 litre Bottle = 1 Litre
Pour out all water from 5 litre bottle.
put all the water from 3litre bottle to 5 litre bottle


After that the water in 5 Ltire Bottle = 1 Litre
The Water in the 3 Litre Bottle = 0 Litre

then fill upp the 3 lititer bottle and fill up the the 5 liter bottle.
Which will give you4 L!

3L - 5L
1: 3 - 0 -> 0 - 3
2: 3 - 3 -> 1 - 5
3: 1 - 0 -> 0 - 1
4: 3 - 1 -> 0 - 4

Yeah but if the bottles are symetrical (i mean like an average coke bottle or something simular to that) it would work.

^ thats what i thought of first. but i guess you could fill up the 5L bottle and pour it into the 3L to have 2L remaining in the 5L bottle. Do this twice to get 4L?

Fill up the 5L bottle and pour it into the 3L bottle (the 3L bottle is now full and there is 2L's in the 5 L bottle), empty the 3L bottle and pour in the 2L's from the 5L bottle (there is now 2L's in the 3L bottle and the 5L bottle is empty), fill up the 5L bottle again and fill up the 3L bottle with the whater from the 5L bottle. You should now have 4L in the 5L bottle.
