Without moon, u cant see nothing if u are in a forest and no light => darkness.

I've had a riddle similar to this when I was young, so i thought the answer back then might be relevant. We've got electric lighting nowadays :/

The sun? Without the sun, you see darkness. The sun I think gives off all colors, hence white in its wholeness. The atmosphere of earth may change the appearance of the sun though, but it would still be white (give off white light).
