My pointing out their popularity wasn't my main point. It was to support the fact that it has been growing rather than falling as a Manga. Google Manga and the first thing that pops up is

I understood his analogy, but in turn it doesn't make sense in the fact that Britney Spears has great musical talent, but as a person she isn't very popular and constantly looked down on as well as shamed for her lifestyle. You can't really compare the popularity of a Japanese manga to that of a person unless it's as a whole and not a partial. There's a reason she's called a guilty pleasure.

Again you missed the point. It doesn't matter if Britney Spears has great musical talent. Look at the other two artists Xemn mentioned. They both have musical talent. The point is, you can not conclude any artistic credibility based on popularity. I could say that "the Beatles had exceptional musical talent because they were popular", and it still wouldn't be a sound and valid argument because of the the simple fact that musical talent =/= popularity. The right argument would be to list their lyrical style, originality, critical achievement, etc.

The same applies in a wide array of credits especially in the entertainment industry - music, films, anime, manga, etc. Recall that Xemn even mentioned the summer hit Transformers. It's popular but it doesn't deserve shit for its writing, production, direction...

And how else would you mean by "growing" other than becoming popular? You even used Google which ranks its search results on popularity. On top of that, you even specifically said that the "top viewed as Naruto/Bleach/OP". What else does "top viewed" mean other than popularity. Onemanga itself ranks its mangas based on popularity.

Enter ratings. Look at the top rated mangas on My Anime List and Anime News Network. They separate popularity from rating. No way in hell Naruto or Bleach can even make it on the top 50. The #1 highest rated on My Anime List is Berserk, which is, on the same site, the 17th most popular. Monster takes the #1 rank on Anime News Network as the highest rated but is the 14th most popular.

Just because it's popular, doesn't mean it's good.

The broad category was taken from your appeal on popularity, which is broad and as I just pointed out, meaningless. If you based Bleach's "goodness" on say, it's writing, originality, etc., then the bland and expansive category of arts entertainment would be easily reduced to creative writing.

Bleach is meh. Ichigo finally moves and odds are the attack will be nulled. Bleach doesn't seem like one of those fights where a sudden hit and it's over. Odds are the fight will last until Ichigo unlocks the next level of his mask. Resurrecion? He's already got up the the lvl of the Espadas with the hole in his chest. I don't think he's gotten to the Ressurecion lvl of his mask yet though.
