Help with startup programs?

Help with startup programs?

Ok so i have some process that in my tasks is called "iexplore.exe", IT IS NOT INTERNET EXPLORER! There are 2 processes called that and they take up alot of resourses. They run on startup and i found something to manage my startup programs.

I dont want to start deleting these cuz i dont wanna **** up my comp any more than it is already. Do any of you know how i can get rid of it?

Look at their paths, if it's not something you created and some /windows/system32/ or something like that then suspicious, ieexplore.exe should be run from program files/internet explorer/iexplore.exe, if it's not from there then is a virus that's being run from somewhere else, feel free to remove it from your startup list. And there is no reason whatsoever for why Internet Explorer should be in the startup list...unless you told it to, it shouldn't mess your system up if you take it off the list

iexplore...is a virus in disquise...and thanks for the advise

kk to get rid of the programs from start up click start>run> type "msconfig" and under the start up tab uncheck the items you don't want . hope i read the topic right

Yep, msconfig>Startup then uncheck and/or delete the things you dont want to run at startup, might as well uncheck anything but NvCpl(in case you have a geforce gfx card).
