when i start limewire my internet dies

so does anyone know why this is happening? it usually stays on for about a minute or two then it just shuts off

im pretty sure limewire is legal..i never said what i was using it for

Use bearshare, but use the previous versions, the new one that looks like limewire suxxors like limewire.

Though I haven't touched it for years try some of these:
-Try frostwire (no weird adware included)
-Try updating your Java (it runs on Java, as does frostwire)
-Run a registry cleaner makes sure there is nothing that could be causing conflicts.

Your ISP may be responsible for this. Check the email your ISP has provided you with and if negative, trouble shoot your connection/hardware/software accordingly.

If you have comcast it could be the throttling that they do to p2p downloads.
