Ouija, anyone?

Post by Casey613 »

Well I never play with that kind of things, never have, not because I'm scared but just to show some respect.. the thing is I've been very curious about it lately, I never called for it but I've seen pretty messed up things I can't explain, no kidding.. a lot of people have been through the same thing and people is still very skeptical about it.

Have you ever 'played' this sort of games? And how did it go?

PS: I'm a new Wiccan.

don't lol. i am in no way a wiccan, but i have a few very good friends who are. they have walked me throgh a lot of the faith, and it's pretty interesting stuff. i have meditated with them a few times and such, and i have never been so calm in my life. whether or not it had anything to do w/ the ritual involved is anyone's guess, but i definitely felt - something.

It's not the faith, it's the associated stereotype, I guess. Everytime I see a wiccan here on TV, it's usually a woman in her 20s working at a Vegan store with dreads.

From Casey's posts, I didn't visualize him with dreads working at a Vegan store.

this is exactly the same point i brought up in the "Bad Music thread just now.

fck a stereotype. i take everything at face value. you have to, or you can't experience ANYTHING properly. i dunno. i find it hard to stomach that someone is willing to totally write something off because of how others who subscribe to it look, act, dress, etc. for every person that fits the mold you have created for them, there are bound to be others who do not. not that i am saying that you are doing that here, dom, i am making a more general point.

I should have clarified, and I tried to in my previous post. I don't laugh at wiccan-way-of-life (wiccanship?), I laugh the image I get when I think about it - it's purely satirical.

I don't know any wiccans personally, i've never talked to any, and their beliefs are rather vague to me. With that said, I can only perceive them with what i've gathered through other means; I realize the view I have of them is not rightfully representative, and that's why I don't take it seriously and laughed at the view I do have.

Of course, that was a general point :P

well as long as you are able to realize that you do not posess enough data to accurately assess a thing and you don't take your incomplete assessment seriously as a resilt, that's fine.

the problem is that 90% of people out there do not posess that ability.

It's more a lifestyle than a religion, in my case at least.
I am not into rituals, at least not for not since this is all new for me. I just feel very comfortable with the Beliefs and way of living, "do what you want as long as you don't harm yourself or your peers".
I am not going to become a veggie because my body needs meat as much as vegetables, cereals and water, but I also respect those who decided not to eat meat.

By the way, never believe what you see on TV, there are plenty of male wiccans :)

Sort of like how many "young-adults" say they're buddhist because it's the cool thing to say?
