Windows XP Home activation

I took legal xp home from my mum,but it needs activation, can I just search random key for it?

No if you used the key too many times you'll have to do the whole calling thing. When they ask you how many other computers you have xp on say "None this is my first time installing XP" And they'll give you an activation code.

So,i just get the same key as my moms computer activated with? I have strange feeling that she dont got it anymore

Yea you'll need your mom's code first. If it works then great but if not then you'll get to a screen where they give you a phone number to call.
