of course you don't know how to respond. You've never had a nice conversation with someone to even know what that is. When somebody offers a handshake or what not, you accept it and say sorry. Clearly, you started it, telling him that "I insulted you".

You guys ever thought about hotel rooms? Hundreds of people book the same room and piss in the same bathroom/tub/shower although the custodians probably clean them...
