It's not the guns that kill people.

Even if you "ban guns", theres still illegal ways of getting them. Or whats stopping someone from killing someone with a knife? or even a baseball bat?

Its the person committing the act and we should be dealing with their mental condition and stopping them from preventing the act in the 1st place. Banning guns wouldn't do a lot.

That's just stupid. We have got real life facts.

It's legal to have guns in the US. There are 10x (or more, don't remember the actual numbers) more gun murders in the US.

Now compare that to any other country.

And who's to say its the guns fault? Who's to say its not the culture to blame? Or the American society? You are assuming its the number of guns, when it may not be. I am not saying the guns aren't contributing, but they aren't the soul blame like everyone thinks.

It's completely the person who OWNS the gun, and nothing else. The gun doesn't tell people to shoot others. I think, maybe to keep a gun, you HAVE to have some kind of note from a doctor saying you are mentally sane.. and maybe have yourself rechecked every few years to determine mental stability?
I'm not sure what could be done, but I'm glad things like this are prevented.. kid who ratted him out is a smart one.

I agree with what someone said earlier. No matter what bans or laws you put ontop of the laws we have already for guns, people will still end up getting shot. It's just like the people that somehow manage to acquire fully-automatic AK-47 and HK91 rifles in California, where those guns are 100% illegal to own period.

banning guns wont help kids will still get a hold of them after all it is already illegal for them to own a gun and they still will, the only real way to deal with this is make penalties for bulling and gun crimes more severe

i think not just this kid should be going to jail but anyone who has helped bring him to this point

Welcome to America where stuff like this happens all the time and the NRA remains one of the most powerful groups in Washington. The founding fathers were right ppl are stupid the 2nd amendment doesn't let ppl own guns its so states can form militias, i giant misinterpretation and how we have this problem on our hands.

I blame the parents, who the f*ck doesn't realize their son is building a grenade and amassing a collection of guns and how the hell do you miss the Nazi flag....child=fail penalty should be death just get it over with....

no the 2nd ammendment says

"A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed."

it means even though there is a militia the right of the people to bear arms shall not be infringed, this is because they knew one day it may be necassary for the people to destroy the government if it got out of hand so they wanted the people to be prepared, it does not say the right of the militia to bear arms shall not be infringed

it means literally "although there is a well regulated militia the right of the citizens to bear arms shall not be infringed"

this is to protect the people and if it was held up as it should be it would i doubt anyone would come into a school with a plan to shoot it up if there was a 50% chance someone had a weapon

MORE GUN CONTROL WONT STOP THIS TYPE OF CRIME IT IS ALREADY ILLEGAL FOR THESE KIDS TO BUY AND OWN WEAPONS BUT THEY DO ANYWAY

the only solutions i think that would actually work are

* school security must exist in every school and they must be armed

* make bullying a felony

No one is born a sadistic killer, if so we should develop ways of finding out who they are and kill them...I can niether agree nor disagree with what this kid did, he'd probaly had a reason for trying to do what he was going to do, even if it was not a logical reason. I for one would not do something like this without a reason no matter how crazy. That school or the teacher/students in that school musta pisses him off one way or another, and he instead of chooseing to get help from family members or other adult choose this path, his parents must have not be much of parents as well for not seeiong what was going on with thier kid. So to sum he did what in his mind was what he had to do and we can't do anything to stop. People aren't borned murderurs, rascist, hipocrits, evil nor good, they are made into what they are by the things around them, we should take a look at ourself and the things around us before judgeing this kid. Nothering is niether good nor bad, only if we think it so.
