Paolini has some talent and the story keeps me interested.

Hi

I would suggest something by John Grisham or maybe even a book from the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. Also if you wanted something with more action give Tom Clancy a try. Also there is always the Harry Potter series to choose from.

Btw do not ever read books by Colin Dexter unless you want to die a horribly slow, painful and overly descriptive rambling plot-line infested death :shock:

Finally do NOT read the book 'The Clockwork Orange' this book is the biggest pile of published b***sh*t ever known to man-kind, honestly I read it and afterwards seriously contemplated playing golf - that is how boring and stupid this book is :banghead:

I've heard only good things from intelligent people about Clockwork Orange. Their reasons seemed more logical than yours do. I think I'll be following their advice instead.

Oh and I just so happen to be right at the beginning of The Hobbit. 2nd time reading it, it's one of the best Tolkien stories IMO.

I've read that one atleast 10 times and I'm not bored of it. Samewith the LOTR. I have both twice, but one has pretty pictures.

I do prefer The silmarillion to both, because I feel it was supposed to become a true masterpiece. Sadly enough it was never finished by his hands. Partly because he's a perfectionist and partly because he died.

Anything by Michael Crichton, I'd especially recommend the book Prey, I just finished it, at 1 in the morning of course! He writes great books.

I've lost my taste for one book stories. I prefer series, like what Raymond E. Feist writes, or Hickman and Weis, J.K. Rowling, Jonathon Stroud, the writer of the Dresden Files. There's more, but if its a long series, got stuff like magic or some sort of fantasy world, then I'm likely to like it. Stuff like Dune, I thought it was par, not the greatest. Can't figure out what it is about those that I don't really like all that much.

Michael Crichton, I used to like his books, but now I just think its kinda blah. Stephen King's series with Roland the gunslinger (can't remember title of it atm) was ok.

Yes.
He's a great writer. Sadly my library barely has any English books, thus I'm forced to buy them.
I generally read English books in English. It's sad to see them translated. And it keeps my English to a decent level.

Romance of the Three Kingdoms by Luo Guanzhong. Too much Shu bias though.

I want to read Journey to the West though. (seen the Vietnamese dub of the HK series)

From what I read on Eragon, the story is almost a copy-pasta of Star Wars in a LOTR setting.
