That's my whole philosophy with First Person Shooters. They are all the same with exeption to different timeframes/storylines.

Except some are much better than others in controls/weapon/powerups/etc

The main fun in playing different shooters, in my opinion, is using different weapons that work in interesting ways. That's why half life 2 is as awesome as it is. UT has the ASMD. Halo has the shielding, the difference in using energy weapons versus projectile weapons, the vehicles. Medal of Honor had great rifles and sniper rifles; not the most realistic but in a lot of ways more fun to play because of it.
