Professor Steven Benner will tell geochemists gathering on Thursday at the annual Goldschmidt conference that an oxidised mineral form of the element molybdenum, which may have been crucial to the origin of life, could only have been available on the surface of Mars and not on Earth.

Prof Benner, of The Westheimer Institute for Science and Technology in the United States, said: "In addition recent studies show that these conditions, suitable for the origin of life, may still exist on Mars. "It's only when molybdenum becomes highly oxidised that it is able to influence how early life formed.

"This form of molybdenum couldn't have been available on Earth at the time life first began, because three billion years ago the surface of the Earth had very little oxygen, but Mars did.

There's a "theory" on how life spread around earth that says, animals close to a volcano when it erupted got launched up into the sky and hurled to other continents.

Perhaps Mars had super volcano and launched stuff through space here to earth.

It would totally work both ways.

Sometimes I think we are indeed engineered by some advanced species who placed life building ingredients here on earth that makes us possible... Spreading it's existence.. (I thought about this before I knew anything about Hollywood)....We've take on a form suitable to live on this planet only..until we figure out how to travel to and live elsewhere as part of some enlightenment/evolutionary process..... Anything is possible...

This. I also think extraterrestial species have visited and interacted with humans on numerous occasions throughout history.

I would say it's very well possible we have been visited by 'aliens' in the past. I find it hard to believe that we would be engineered by some alien species though.

i cant reference to facts, but human evolution likely has not been 'natural' over the past million years. technology alone in the past 200 years has seen crazy changes. so, to assume we are the first truly intelligent life on earth is dumb. if you consider the hundreads of millions of years of dinosaur evolution before we even were theoretically possible would imo lead to more interesting stuff than 'life' starting on mars!

lets assume a dinosaur could evolve into an intelligent variation, one through millions of years could reach a stage of social intelligence and essentially evolve as we would have. develope culture, technology etc. with the millions of years still left from reaching the same level as we are now, they could further evolve, enter space 'what we call aliens' eventually genetically modify very early ancestors of man 'the so called missing link in our evolution' to create hybrids etc. some people even speculate that the traditional alien green dudes are these very beings in special suits etc. and reports of lizard/reptillain men, larger than us in secret us underground bases!

sounds crazy, and im posting this on srf mainly due to loving the replies i get back! but seriously, dinosaurs evolving through millions of years and being our 'aliens' makes more sense than aliens from other galaxies imo! its even been reported that tgey have on numerous occasions stopped nuclear testing which may have led to nuclear wars, so they obviously have a higher level of control than us, i believe we are created 'mutated mammals integrated with their dna'.

so yeah, am i trolling or am i crazy? lol damn 3ds...dont even know what i did or didnt type tbh lol

We clearly evolved from older "Human species" that existed on Earth. We didn't evolve from apes as they say.

the ammount of genetic defects within human dna is insane and scientists working outside of standard conforming science are saying this is not possible within a natural evolutionary cycle and must have some kind of modufication, even when compared to pre 'modern' humans, we evolved from what we consider primitive to highly intelligent humans very quickly. to claim we are simply evolved from apes is wrong, as whatever you believe there is still the 'missing link' between humans and apes. you either believe we evolved from other mammals entirely yet discovered, or that a higher race experimented on early human ancestors.

what we know, is life existed for hundreads of millions of years before we showed up! humans can already clone animals, create human brains 'partially' and control the weather to create silent weapons and free energy etc within the past 60 years! im goin all conspiracy crazy now wtf haha!

oh, and aliens are pop culture, movies and shit! really they are likely just ancient living race who have been here all along! they may even have used mammals to enhance themselves, not to benefit us but we are the 'rats' as humans use!
