Bro problems
Bro problems
So, long story short: Friend of mine/bro came at me, I ended up flipping him over my head and he landed on, and broke, his laptop.
He got pissed. And claimed it was all my fault that his laptop was broken, even though I had told him to be careful since both his and my laptops were nearby when he was coming at me, he ignored me, and I acidentally flipped him over onto his laptop.
So, now he wants me to pay for the 2-3 laptop protection plan for his new one. Which will be about $160. And I may have agreed to do this originally, in order to calm him down a bit.
But, having thought it over over the past few days, I see absolutely no reason why I should pay for something that was entirely his fault. He came at me, I defended myself, his shit got broke. I don't see how any of this is my fault. As such, I see no reason to pay $160 towards his new laptop.
The only reason I'm still slightly considering doing it is because I said I would, and I try my best to be a man of my word.
But yeah, thoughts?

If he already 'agreed' to it, that'd be a dick move. imo. Even if it was a spur of the moment to calm someone down.

I'm guessing you two were just messing around... you warned him.. he didn't listen.. so yeah, his fault, his problem. The most I'd pay for anything is half, if anything.
The issue now is you said you'd pay full for the protection plan.

For some reason I was expecting the repair cost to be way higher.

Thank goodness my friends aren't that fucking stupid. Tell him to pay for it himself but if you already bent over and agreed to pay for it, I'd say suck it up and be true to your word.

he's not a friend/bro if you're making such a problem out of $160.

Not repairing it. He just bought a new one with a protection plan.

Eh, I don't really care about the actual dollar number. It's more so my personality type. I can't let any "injustices" go very easily. Meh.

Eh, everything still works fine. Only thing that got "broke" was the monitor. Like, you can still see everything at it, but you can't open/close/move the monitor on the laptop, due to him landing on it.

Why did he flip over your head, in the first place? xD
I have no idea how I actually ended up flipping him over my head. In all honestly, it shouldn't have been physically possible. But it happened, so yeah...*shrugs*

I think he meant, was there some form of argument or were you two just messing around?

facepalm if you actually pay for it, may as well turn around after you do.

Re: Bro problems
160$ isn't something I could pay anyone.
Since I don't know exactly how everything happened, I can't say if this is "injustice" or not.

Re: Bro problems
No argument. Just messing around.
But like I said, he came at me. I was like "**** this" and flipped him off of me. Reason I view it as an "injustice" is that I warned him about the laptop as he was coming, he ignored the warning. So, basically, the only way for the laptop to not get in harms way was if I just sat there and did nothing. But **** that, so yeah.
If I felt like this was actually my fault, I wouldn't have a problem paying for it. But I don't think it is, so I won't. And he can just get over it.

Re: Bro problems
Dude, if you were playing around then you shouldnt have flipped him into his laptop, you warned him and knew it was there so why do it? I know he was coming at you but i really doubt flipping him over in the direction of his laptop was the only option man. Not really cool. You shouldnt pay that much because you both were the ones messing about but you should still help him out a little bit. If you can why not right? Hes supposed to be a bro.

I was laying on my bed, he came over, got on top of me (no homo), I lifted up my legs, and in doing so, he went over head/side of my head and onto his laptop.
Ironically, he missed my laptop by mere inches. Ha.

Bahaha.
Re: Bro problems
That story really doesn't help your case
nevertheless, you warned him. He sounds like a bitch for demanding you to pay when clearly you told him the consequences of his actions before they even took place. If he escalates the whole thing because you won't pay then you know he's not even a bro, that's the truth

Ask yourself this: is his friendship worth a dollar value? You're asking us for advice, but in all reality, I think you've got some bigger questions to be asking yourself.

Yeah. Currently been rethinking my friendship with the guy I've been talking about. Just feel like I'm moving on, and he's stuck in place. Used to respect him alot more than i do now. Not sure how it'll all play out, but we'll see.
