According to reviews I've read on the 650M GT , the card runs BF3 on High @ 40-60FPS which is perfect for me. As long as I can run GW2 on High flawlessly.
I'm also wondering if I should just downgrade to 8G DDR3 RAM and save about 56$. I'm reading mixed reviews on the worthiness (is that a word?) of going 16G DDR3 RAM. I could use that 56$ish for a Naga

or you could turn that extra 12GB of RAM you will probably never use into a RAM drive. Store your game on that (at least if it is not over 12GB) and tell an SSD to suck it.

do the even have ddr3 ram drives? OPed shit though
MrTwilliger wrote:16 GB RAM? Downgrade that shit. If all your wanting from it is GW2 than I really do think that is quite over the top.
Yeah from that perspective it`s clear that 16G RAM is overkill. It's more about "Will I ever get 16G for only +56$?". Assuming I'm keeping this laptop for the next 3 years.

I'd get 16 gigs, even if it is $56 extra. I went from 4gigs to 16 gigs of ram, and it's amazing to have more ram than you need for cheap. Hell I used 8 gis, and then turned 8 gigs into a "Ram Disk" a few months back and was having fun with a random read speed of 1500mb/s

Gaming? haha. Either way I'd just get something from ASUS instead. Also where ever you read 40-60 is lol. Considering a 560ti can just hover around 60 frames and I doubt a mobile gpu of lesser quality can do better. And to make sure I wasn't making a fool of myself
Though you could mess around the setting sand it wouldn't be 'high' per-say, but whatever floats your boat. Also I saw this on my facebook feed You really should want to stay away from anything advertised "gaming" as the price is marked up quite high. It isn't like a 650 and 660m have a huge difference, but hey a few frames more is a few more. The one I linked is apparently better and cheaper.
As for GW2 I'm sure it'll do fine. Since the game doesn't support dual GPUs I had to run my GTX295 not in SLI. Ended up getting around 30frames on high settings which would yield a far better result on those mobile GPUs.
If being a loser means not playing Silkroad all day.. lulwut?
a 560ti can get 60-70 on ultra, and a 650m can get 50-60 on high. I haven't seen a benchmark for the 650m on BF3, but it's better than the 560m which got 50-60 fps on high, so it's safe to assume so.

That exact same Laptop is on their canadian website but for 1,049$ instead of 999$ on the American website. Living in Canada, would it be cheaper to order from the US website + shipping fee than to order from the Canadian website? Assuming the Canadian website has a smaller shipping fee since I live in Canada.
Can't order from the U.S obviously, derp.
So essentially it's either the 984$ 750G HDD but 650M or 1040$ 500 HDD but 660M
Sorry I didn't even bother to check if you were from strange foreign lands I've never heard of. I'd go with the 660m, but that's a bit more just for it. 250gb of drife space isn't a big deal considering they're going cheaper and you could buy a 1tb drive for $100 again. Replacing a laptop GPU on the otherhand..
Really depends all on you. Do you think it's worth the extra $56 for better frames a less harddrive space? My opinion is yes.

I agree too. I currently have a 500GB HDD and never been over 400GB (in the past 2 years). So far going with the 660M GTX. Surprised a "smaller" brand like Lenovo has such great deals.
