Keyboard/Mouse

Post by Squirt »

So I want to buy a new keyboard/mouse but I don't want it to be a standard one. I like the MI one I bought a while back because of its functions but it is breaking apart.
Budget for keyboard/mouse: 50$

And if the prices are finally low enough... a fast 1TB harddrive now?

Links from Newegg please.
Thank you in advance

I read the G15 is nice but it is out of stock. And I don't know what is worth buying. A razor mouse alone can be 75$ apparently.

I have this mouse: the Logitech G500, it's pretty good. The side material feels a bit wierd at first, but you'll get used to it.

very well then.

In that case know this: most gamer gear is pretty much a waste of money. So you should avoid razer, alienware and stuff like that. unless you find some kind of magical deal.
So the g15 is pretty much out of the question, it's just a keyboard with pretty lights... an expensive one.

This mouse looks very promising. One of the things that define a quality mouse for me is correct placement of the buttons 4 and 5, which is surprisingly a pretty rare thing.
Anyway just check if the mouse itself is a good size for you, I know I wouldn't want one of those mini laptop mice :/.

this one doesn't look too bad either, though I'm not a fan of weird finger shape thingy on the right side.

Massive keyboard/mouse guide dump coming.
Spoiler!

I agree with most of the things said in these guides, but not everything. Good guides nonetheless.

I have a RAT7 as well and it's absolutely shit tier in my opinion. It just doesn't feel right, something is off about it. I've tried adjusting it and everything, and after playing around with the weights and screws for hours it is still only mediocre at best. I can honestly say the biggest regret of my life was selling my G500 to get the RAT.

I think i've bought every gaming mouse on this planet and a handful of keyboards.

Keyboards aren't that important. Really you're focusing on: (1) mechnical? (2) lights?

One of the best cheap mice i've ever used is the Deathadder. It's pretty much my go-to suggestion for anyone buying a mouse. The non-gaming brand analog would be the Intellimouse 2.0 or 3.0; they feel the same in your hand.

Don't get tied up in the technical stuff (I can't even use the newer stuff, I need to tone it down, because of my sensitivity and gaming style).

I've been using the Razer Imperator for a while now and I have to admit it's one of the few newer mice that I find to work really well (because it has a hybrid optical and infared sensors).

This is the combo i've been using since they came out. The keyboard satifies my mechnical = Y and lights = Y preference but like I mentioned, it doesn't matter.

Spoiler!

I wouldn't give too much weight to the guide. It's just posting elitist qq money hivemind trends. The example would be the "God" keyboard they suggest. PC hipsters always mention the IBM keyboard as #1 even though it isn't really anything special. It works great and I prefer it to non-mechanical keyboards, but it's only #1 when you're a gaming hipster and you want to show everyone how oldschool you are.

If you really want to follow the best train of thought on selecting a mouse you need to narrow them down to: (1) sensor (infared, optical, hybrid); (2) grip (claw, palm); and then order the reamining based on comfortability in your hand.
