I'd never enter a lottery to begin with, but if I just so happened to have won by some random chance I'd give the money away. I'd keep enough to buy a quiet, clean little house on a small property that I could live on/raise a family on one day and that's it. Every other cent I'd give away to people who need it more than I do and just live my life like normal.

I like my career (even though I recently quit my job, but that was for personal reasons and not work related reasons). I like the field I work in and want to continue doing so. I like saving and budgeting, I find real joy out of saving for weeks and months to buy something. It's a sense of accomplishment that I feel having that much money would eliminate. I don't need that much money, it would only make me sad. As long as I have the satisfaction of knowing there will always be a roof over my own head, and hopefully the heads of my family if I meet a nice lady one day, than that's all I really need.

You'd probably do better investing it smartly, still keeping your career, still living frugally, still managing and budgeting (just with more money), and with the growth from investing it you could help more people over a longer amount of time then by simply lump sum dumping it into charities and what-not. That would be extremely satisfying I think. Keep investing, build the fortune, but at the same time use it to help others. Win.

Also, I'd like to point out that I was correct that the pot would end up being split.
