anyways who cares if we didn't know him personally he brought a great deal to our technology

He made other companies try harder to beat the iphone and ipod which created some good rivalry, i'd like to see how the technology would be at right now without the creation of apple...

No, no one is saying that at all. Grow up and take your fallacious statements elsewhere..

My statements weren't fallacious, I was just pointing out how stubborn and narrow minded some of you are. Just because his products cost 1209219487$ more than the regular, and everyone still gets them, that you have to "hate the man". He invented the product and created a market that we have today, with rivalry and such a variety.

No matter how much you can hate a company, you can't deny the fact that he was a great creator and a smart man.

To help you understand what I mean:

Take as an example Hitler. The guy did monstrous things, most unspeakable of. Yet what he created and how he created it was stupefying, he was a genius, but sadly he used it for the worst.

What Steve Jobs did was create a company which made high-tech gizmo's and he established a world-wide concurrence and made companies bring forth products to try to match what he created. I think that is simply amazing.

I am not saying that without him we wouldn't have computers, but maybe we would lack certain technologies, such as good high-tech smart phones, or yet even brilliant tactile technology

No one even came close to hating the man in this thread. Some people like myself don't really care that he and countless other people I have never met died today. I'm not saying it's a good thing he died or what he did was in any way bad or meaningless, but I just can't care about it.

Well sad to see him go. I never liked Apple products besides the ipod as it's one of the best mp3 players you can get imo. Everything is overpriced and it sells. I just don't get it. They're great products, but the prices make no sense. That's what I disliked about apple.

Exactly, the products are good imo, specially the iPod (for me). They are just rather overpriced.

Did some guy just compare Steve jobs to hitler...

Anyways I think its obvious that iPod is one of the best (and popular) mp3s evar. and the rolling-circle thing in the middle of the ipod and the touch slide thing to unlock the iphone is creative
let it gooooo let it gooooOoOooOOOOOO

What I find strange is how focused everyone is on the iPod and iPhone as his major achievements. What about the revolutionary work he did producing the first commercial computer ever that used a GUI? I think, as far as technological advancements are concerned, it's a much more important thing to be focusing on.

What takolin said.

It's a shame that he died, he was a great addiction to mankind, but I can't really feel "bad" for his death. I do not rejoice in it, I do not hate him, I simply didn't know the man.

Millions of people die everyday, you don't have people posting how sad they are for their death on their facebook wall. Kinda saddens me when people think that they "know" people just because they're famous. Most of the time you don't know them, at all.

'Cause you know, every single company, software, hardware, was the idea of one, and only one person ever.
