I know,

A lot of my friends back in Indonesia have already started Fasting, and they go 4 - 6. I know my friends here in Canada who are fasting will be going from like 3/4 - 9.

I wish you a healthy Ramadan 2011

It is where people fast during the daylight. No food or drink while the sun is up.

I'm not so religious but it feels good, Ramadan in any Muslim country is AMAZING, even for foreigners.

OT: Ramadan kareem to all that are fasting this year. It's f*cked that I can't fast the first three days due to medication, but I'll make up for them.

It's not hard fasting if you've done it for many years already.

Lol my dentist started fasting during the heat wave..

Anyway, stay hydrated as much as possible and if it's between tradition and your health, I'm sure you'll know what to do. Good luck. :)

It's not just food and drink, it's also about purity of mind.

No smoking, no Alcohol, no sex, no sexually related thoughts, no masturbation.

I've done a full month of Ramadan 3 (2 times technically since the first year i allowed myself water) times in my life (being Catholic myself).

I do it not for any Religious purposes, but because i admire the dedication and discipline that is needed to fast.

It's not.

Sounds kind of like an IF diet (intermittent fasting). Except just more extreme (no water) and a little longer fast. Good luck guys... don't kill yourself in this heatwave.

Man, I should carry food around with me, so that if I see any somalians, I can eat in front of them. (They're all muslims around here, and just about the only ones too.)

What do you expect to happen ?
Nothing will happen , most muslims don't care about eating in Ramadan in the daylight .

If someone i am talking with/passing nearby is eating/drinking , i will talk like normal , not much to attract my attention in a sandwich or whatever .
So in the first week in college i went with jeans and the pajama's shirt. Didn't notice what i was wearing till after i returned home.
