I think you mean politics and intrigue. Agreed, but I still think that they atleast should put some good fighting scenes. I want to see the ''noble'' and ''brave'' men in combat.

Anyways, now we need to wait months before until season 2 comes out

Yea, it was good. I was just hoping for more progression on the Lannister Stark conflict.

Never really cared much for the Khalessi.

how could you be disappointed by that. Having recently read the book seeing certain scenes like the dragon one have more meaning when you have more details about them. Like Robb being given a title that no man has had in over 300 years and the gravity of what it means to hear both Stannis and Renly declare for the throne.

i only wish they had a better actress to play dany...

Good idea, then you'll see why I used 'policy' instead of 'politics'. I think, it's hard to understand the storyline without having additional information from the books or wiki.

this tv show feels like crack though. Even though I feel like the show isn't really epic I still watch it and then bitch it wasn't to my liking. Boromir really dead... well really sucks. I was hoping for some epic Khal drogo action, ain't gonna happen either. Dragons are cool and all, but I'd rather see a million savage fighters go at it than see an overpowered dragon taking care of business.
All I can really hope for now is that Goffrey gets staked, ass first (no homo), so the show can become epic again

Got home awhile ago and sat down to watch the
final episode of season 1 of games of thrones...and i can just sum
it up in one word.... WOWZERS

The Khallise smoothering her husband to death He was basically in a coma, she knew that a proud horselord like him would rather be dead, than living that way.
Rob being decleared the new "King of the North" Considering what they had been talking about and stuff in the meeting at the time, it took me by surprise too.

Note: I haven't watched the series, my reactions are from reading the book.

Well MrJoey, it seems the show is a pretty accurate tale of the story in the books

From what I understand, the series actually has to leave quite a bit out, understandable because the books are very long, and there's just no way to fit them into 10 episodes.

I was curious about this, especially after reading this thread, so I decided to check it out. Just finished watching the first episode and I'm really liking it, even though I'm not a big fan of this kind of fiction.

I didn't like the ending, though. The Queen's brother is such an idiot. Also, he looks like Prince Charming from Shrek, an idiot as well.

But to me, the prize of the most-annoying-character-ever contest goes to..

I know that his death was on hands of Joffrey himself, but I also hate his mother for things such as *being behind* cripling Bran, or tearing apart King Robert's will... damn Lannister's in general, the half man is the only one I'm fond of

I listen to audio books all day at work. I've gone through over a hundred since January and there was nothing left to listen to. I think I finally found it. I just finished series 1 and there's no way in hell that I will wait for Spring 2012.

I finished reading all the books. Its amazing. I heard A Dance with Dragons leaked so i'd be careful if you guys visit any HxC game of thrones sites or even 4chan. You might get spoiled big time.

I swear to god i will lead a riot if it takes him another six years to finish "The Winds of Winter" especially seeing as it took 6 years from AFFC to ADWD and they're two halves of the same book.
