Fluorination has plus and minus. Plus is you get MUCH less tooth decay such as cavities. Minus side is that it, like all things, have side effects.

Umm, because most common water filters can't remove fluoride. You either need to distill it or buy a defluoridation filter which will probably have alumina to pull the fluoride out.

Brita, PUR, etc. are ineffective.

EDIT: Scratch that, I want to see some studies that show how terrible it is, at the levels found in drinking water? Not that "omg fluoride can kill you". Fluoride in toothpaste can kill you, but you'd have to eat about 14 tubes in one sitting. What about all the studies showing fluoride was beneficial in the first place?
