when i had my fro i had the same issue and theres not much you can do about it. Its because your hair is extremely thick and curly. Most big afros, the kind that really poof out are light and thin. If you used a conditioner you might see it poof out a little more depending on the conditioners quality but overall get used to have very long hair and not nearly as big of a fro though with proper care it will get pretty big. I hadn't cut my hair in a couple of years and in HS ppl started referring to me as "that kid with the don king hair"

Imma try using a blow dryer to puff it up later. Looking for a do for this weekend and thought that maybe I had enough growth to do the fro.

perms can be undone. there are different degrees of it too. you can get it tight and pick it out, i bet itd work.
