Classic/Action:
Three Musketeers / Count of Monte Cristo by Dumas - One or the other, they're pretty dam long. I'd recommend the latter.

Satire/Classic/Short:
Candide by Voltaire

Hit or Miss:
Catch 22 by Heller

If you're into BDSM and love scrutinizing for hidden meanings and philosophical questions about life and humanity for some reason:
Any famous existential author (cept Nietzsche), Dostoyevsky comes to mind
Any stream of consciousness authors, I remember Joyce being extremely painful

Hope you find something you like, gl.

A slight update. I was in borders on the weekend searching for the majority of the titles in this thread. None of them were in stock! One of the drawbacks to living in a rural town I suppose.

So I'm going to have get a debit card and start looking online for them. Awesome -.-
