How are you paying for College?

I am speaking based on what my father has told me. You are in an American market so it may be different there.

hmm I think when you talk about Com. Sci. you are talking about my major which is Computer Information Systems. We do programming, web design, database work. What do you do in Com. Sci. degree? Also my major is in the college of business which means I'm required to take business courses as well, which means ill pretty much have a minor in accounting or management if I take just a few extra courses.

computer science is more related to math. Its often a major in the math or engineering department of the college. CS majors can do all kinds of computer related jobs. I know Ph.D computer science majors are usually involved in artificial intelligence or other cutting edge computing stuff.

My fafsa results finally came through. I was awarded a $2500 grant for the following two semesters and the option to accept several loans, some subsidized, others not. I will have to accept the subsidized loans. I also received a small scholarship from the computer science department, woo.

Yup you are right, I know some people that went back just to take Nursing and they are going to come back to Canada when they finish.

Yes, everything is free here. We go to the stores and we get free food. Free cars and free doctors, good life here in Europe. Oh wait.. 50%+ tax rates that's how we pay for it.

Say whut? Not here, health care here in the netherlands is probaly even more expensive then in america. It's like 165 usd per month!! per person! And then you are just normally insured.
College AINT free at all, its for me that is, 180 euro EX books per month so thats about 240 USD, so I have to pay about 400 USD per month just for health care and school.

Government pays for it, you pay back when you earn over £15,000 a year.

Something like this.. if you earn more then €x you have to pay something.. normaly its arround €1500,- for HBO (Education in Applied science) and University is like €3000,-. If you live with your parents you get ~90 euros each month from the government and if you live outside you get ~300 euro's (it depends on your parens earnings).

Well i am in Bavaria police college i get 890euro i pay 400 euro for rent:) plus i am not German Nacional:) and i pay 50 euro per moth for German language studies.
