If it's a waste then I'd say it's a waste. I don't give a fuck if it's symbolic or it has anything to do with religion or not. Imagine the amount of people in the world you could save with that amount of blood. Imagine how much energy and food your human body used to generate that amount blood.

and taking that into account these people are willing to throw it away for their cause. Calling the blood protest a waste would be like saying going on a hunger strike is waste of time. On the overall you're doing more damage to yourself than to your opponents but its the message that you're willing to do that kind of thing that makes it such a gesture.

You're an idiot because when these civillians are throwing their blood at their gov't demanding change and a response you have the nerve to call it was waste but for the past 8 years we've been fighting two wars on two different fronts and you didn't mention anything about wasted blood then. Surely the lives of all those soldiers and civilians dead is blood spilled that could have served a better purpose. You didn't say anything about the needless waste of blood when suicide bombers kill themselves and everyone else around them. Third, wars happened from thousand of years, there were people who said it's good, there were people who said it's bad.
