Damn! soo close... hehehe anyways it was fun :sohappy:

This is how i really like teachers would show the whole story about everything, but mainly history. Not by a book, but by something similar to this. I can understand it more rather than reading a booring book that only supplies little important details; more decoration, less information.

but this was reeal nice. makes me wanna get back into my scientific studies. and by scientific i mean physics and astronomy. i've been too wrapped up in microbiology and organic chem.

Bumping the Physics thread.

Scientists Briefly Break a Law of Nature

Among other things, the group announced it had succeeded in measuring the temperature of the quark-gluon plasma as 4 trillion degrees Celsius, “by far the hottest matter ever made,” Dr. Vigdor said. That is 250,000 times hotter than the center of the Sun and well above the temperature at which theorists calculate that protons and neutrons should melt, but the quark-gluon plasma does not act the way theorists had predicted.
That's 7.2 trillion degrees F.

That's why it's called a theory. You can never 100% correct in something. You need time to study it.

The theory is still correct. This experiment further supports the standard model and theories on matter / antimatter created at the beginning of the universe.

However, a scientific theory will never claim to be 100% correct. They must always remain falsifiable, or else it's not a scientific theory.

CeLL, they are trying to do something similar (kinda) with fusion. Basically creating a star on Earth.

If you are interested, this BBC series is extremely interesting. ( 6 parts)
