Re: Australian Open!
What kind of tennis player would I be if I didn't watch the slams?
I am hoping for the title to go to Roddick or Federer. But that is just me

Re: Australian Open!
As much as I love seeing Federer and Nadal playing, I want to see something new. Roddick deserves another title. I am hoping Grigor Dimitrov picks up his game in the next couple of years and makes an apperance in the top 10. That would just be awesome.

Re: Australian Open!
Nadal man!
That guy plays with such passion and force. His arms probably weigh more than my entire body. I just really like his dedication and display of force.
Federer I sometimes don't even really see why he's supposed to be awesome, but when you see Nadal you just know you're going to get owned if you ever faced him.

Federer is a genius. Plain and simple. He doesn't rely so much on brute force, as finding the key spots and getting the ball there in style. He's one of those few pros that uses the 1h backhand still.

Re: Australian Open!
Federer and Nadal both play separate games of tennis. Nadal relies on grueling, long, defensive points to win a match. Even though over the years he has become more offensive and powerful, that is one of his key strategies that uses all the time. The downfall of his playing style is he physical abuses himself. Last year his tendonitis was so bad in BOTH knees that he had to take a break. His awesome playing style will restrict himself in the future unless he acclimates into a different type of player.
Federer has the perfect strokes and the perfect head on his shoulders that he doesn't need brute force to win points. His placement and consistency alone wins him matches. If you watch highlight reels of him playing, you will see this all the time. He is known for his brilliant shot making in matches. He can literally read opponents and slowly pick them apart.
Both Nadal and Federer were at their peaks a year or two ago. However, I do think Federer will outlast Nadal at the number one spot from now on. Federer is fresh, healthy, and pressure free. He knows he has set himself as one of the greatest. Now, he can just play tennis and get the results that he earns. Nadal still has a little while to prove things are different than last year.
It will be interesting to see how this tournament plays out for both of them.

Re: Australian Open!
I really wanted Del Potro to go far, it seems he has the most trouble against Cilic, and he drew him in the 4th round
. I think if it comes to Federer getting to the final, only 3 people in tennis can beat him. Nadal, Murray, and Del Potro.
Nadal and Murray have winning records against him, and Del Potro seems to take him to 5 sets a lot, winning the US Open in another 5 setter last year.

Re: Australian Open!
As I said earlier, Nadal can be too physical. I feel bad about him having to withdraw already. I thought this year may have been different.
