Post by bot_antist »

ok i'm using a netgear WPN824 router which works fine on the pc thats wired to it but my other computer with a linksys network adapter doesn't work. I try to connect to the the router with the correct password but on the bottom it shows an icon with two computers and a yellow exclamation mark. also when i try to connect it says network taking unusually long to connect or something.

Is DHCP setup on the Netgear and is the pc with the linksys card setup to obtain an ip address automatically? If not, is it set to an IP within the DHCP range of the netgear?

How exactly do you have it setup? Modem to WAN port of router, and then two pc's connected into LAN ports?

Make sure the linksys is set to obtain IP automatically.. might have changed on ya. Troubleshoot the connection when you get the yellow exclamation point and see what it says.
