Well that's what I did.

A HD 4890 is "only" 150 euros each.

His are triple the cost ^^

The new DX 11 cards are gonna carry these current "best" ones.

Oh and what I said about your PSU, was your Oc'd i7 included :P

They take quite a lot of wattage OCd ;)
I'm curious to see how it turns out, too.

I'll be recieving my parts tommorow, or if im unlucky the day after.

Then why can guru3d run this in QuadSLI + an OC'ed i7 965, and tell with picture proof that the peak load was around 700 watts
And if it isn't enough, i'll buy another smaller PSU dedicated to let's say the CPU. Anyway tomorrow will be D-Day when I install the cards. Let's see if you proof me wrong or the other way around, I'm hoping for the last option

Well that won't count for me, as I'm replacing all the textures with super high res ones. And lots of mods for fallout 3. On my previous PC my hd4870 couldn't handle it any-more at some point after installing those superhigh res textures

It's not about fallout 3 but the fact that the CPU will/does bottle neck..The game is just an example of it doing so.

Well it doesn't really show in any other game so I'm not really afraid of my cpu bottlenecking it

I just built a new computer of my own (with a little help from my more tech-savvy bro) and I'm absolutely thrilled with the performance.

Here's what I got:
-Gigbyte MA790GP-UD4H motherboard
-AMD Phenom II X3 710 CPU
-4 Gig Kingston RAM
-HIS Radeon HD 4850 GPU
-320 Gig Western Digital HDD
-Thermaltake 600W toughpower PSU

I kept my old DVD drive, case and peripherals, the whole lot set me back a mere AUD$700. Just thought I'd share.

The PSU seems to be holding it, overclocked my cards to around 650/1100 and the cpu goes to 3.74 at stock voltage. Getting around 30k performance marks in vantage :D
